Web-design continued. Our second assignment was to create a website wireframe. Basically a blueprint or a sketch of a website. In my case, definitely a sketch. We had to use the 10 ultimate briefing questions from our last task and fill in answers from an imaginary client. I chose my client to be a restaurant owner. Probably because I’ve worked as a waiter in restaurants for a couple of years and also spend a freakishly big amount of time looking at food and places I want to eat all over the world. Fortunately our next big assignment is also revolving around food so the the wireframe I created is kinda like an appetizer for my brain, before that big assignment.
We could chose to make a High tech or Low tech wireframe. I chose to go for the Low tech, which means I used pen and paper instead of trying to get my head around a new program. When I scanned my sketches, they turned out looking so bad though, that I transferred the sketch to Indesign. Below is the homework that I did.
We also had to provide our own hosting service, the domain I bough is http://www.karinamarko.com (might not show up yet as the documentation process takes about 24h)
What kind of visitors are you expecting on your website? (Consider their income, interests, gender and age.) Hungry people that want classy food, probably aged between 16-50y. Middle to more wealthy class.
If you have a current website, what would you like to keep?
-No current website.
Do you have a current Logo, or will one need to be created?
Who are your competitors and how do you differ from them?
-Other takeaway restaurants but also restaurants that offer cheaper sushi at the house. Our sushi can be delivered to the house and we provide higher quality and better service.
Can you give examples of sites that you like and explain what you like about them.
-http://waterfrontdanang.com/ Big pictures and organized layout
–http://koedkbh.dk/ Simple, nice colors, easy information delivery
Do you have any color preferences? What should the look and feel for the website be?
-Light colors that can put emphasis on images of the food. The colors and the theme needs to be light and balanced, just like our sushi.
Do you have images/illustrations for the website or will we need to find/create them for you?
What sections or information need emphasizing on your webpage?
-Images of the food is number one. The menu and contact information right after that.
Who will be the contact person for this project?
